mIRC is a very old way to chat... there are much easier ways to do it now... I would suggest learning some of these new programs like Skype. Skype is a live chat program, and so much more

Yes of course, there are Skype/Ventrillo/TeamSpeak etc ... but you can't get everyone on the same "room". And mIRC is still very used for CS/Wc3 and DotA ^^ And I actually like it. It is nice to see people sharing their hands and discuss about them and make a "debate"

fwiw Skype has a group chat feature where you can have "room" style discussions.
