I've never really known anyone personally who had died cancer until a few months ago. That person was the mom of a good friend of mine and it was a humbling experience. It made me think about how life can be so fragile at times and we should really savour the time we have on this Earth.
Since then, there have been countless facebook invites to help donate to Cancer, but maybe I've just been noticing it more because of its now more direct impact in my life. But one of my friends stood out from the crowd. She is willing to shave her hair and go bald to help raise money and that was a lot more sacrifice than what the other invitations had in them. She's a pretty girl and her hair will be missed but the money raised will help go towards cancer so she assures me that it'll be worth it in the long run. Here's some pics of her:
Her friend had recently been diagnosed with cancer and she felt that she needed to do something about it. I respected her courage to do something which most people, especially girls would never do. Even the boyfriend of the girl who was diagnosed with cancer has not agreed to shave his head.
I told her that I would happily donate to the cause and am going to donate what I would normally make in an hour since I dont think that is too much to ask of anyone and hope you guys do the same. An hour's wage from each of us could go a long way and help a lot of people out and is so little in the grand scheme of things, but if that is too much to ask obviously donate whatever you feel you can.
