Re: Boywonder - In The Cage 2/11/10
Do you take notes on your opponents during a session? If so, can you give an example of a recent note that you took, and how that note changed the way that you played a subsequent hand vs that opponent?

Re: Boywonder - In The Cage 2/11/10
- What does a coaching with u look like? hand history review, live playing, observing u and asking questions or u doing a video review?
- how many lessons do you think someone should take if getting coached by u?
- how big is the difference in skill level between midstakes (nl400) and nl1k? What does it take to climb from midstakes to higher stakes?
- what do u do in order to stay super focused? I seem to autopilot the longer my sessions last and do not think really through the hand.still im a good winning player but I'm losing out like this ...

Thank you. I am unsure about Vegas, but I might. If I do, this will be a given.

Re: Boywonder - In The Cage 2/11/10
Hey there. Refering to your post, where you say, that you should analyze 50 own and 100 hands from an opponent you respect, ive got a question:
Since most hands go "bet(or raise) - fold fold fold", i am asking myself what Filters in Holdemmanager do you use, to find "good" hands to analyze.
I am sure you played around with those settings a bit, what does experience tell you is usefull? Pot bigger than 50BB? Turnraise = true ?
I would be thankful, if you could gave some advice for this.
Kind Regards
Graffa

If you are talking about the technical game, you cannot get around hard work if things are not just coming naturally. You have to be mindful of how you are feeling at the table and adress that, read books or watch videos, and most importantly, constantly review your play and that of your opponents.
Best advice is to realize once and for all that itīs going to take some work, and then make a decision. If your decision will be that beating the 50 and beyond is not something that needs to be part of your future, then that is fine. It is perhaps not meant to be for you then. But if you decide that it is important to you to get beyond this particular hurdle in life, prepare to work as hard as it takes because it will eventually happen.
No reason not to table select at least to some point from the very start, I would say.

I would initially get phonecalls in the dead of the night, hearing only a strange panting on the other side of the line before it was eventually hung up.
Later on, I woke up one day to the sight of a dead salmon in my refrigerator, that I had no recollection of purchasing. After consulting friends, I decided that this must be some type of sicilian message.
The straw that broke the camels back was when in the city, a menacing type character dressed in black "accidentally" stepped on my foot, and instead of apologising, as is norm, muttered something under his breath. To my horror, I believe I heard the one dreaded word, in a hoarse, whispering, terrifying voice: "Legggoooo....". I couldnīt be sure, but I needed to put the safety of myself and my family first. So I decided to contact Matt.

I donīt think I have read a poker pook for a very long time, and am not at all familiar with any of the e-books out there. Initially though I was very much into the early 2+2 books, although they have probably no value at all in todays game and with todays resources. I heard that Miller, Mehta, and Flynn released a book on how to beat 1/2 6-max specifically at a reasonable price, and I know they have decent reputations at least.
