Hi Boywonder,

You said in an earlier reply that you think the games will to some degree or another become tougher. I would just like to probe a little further into your thoughts on that subject.

Firstly, your winrate seems to have barely changed over the last 18 months, judging soley on the graphs you have posted on 2+2. Is this because you are managing to maintain a rate of improvement that it is at least equal to the competition (or maybe a greater rate since you have comparable winrates at higherstakes)? I guess what i am trying to establish is how rapidly the games are getting tougher - Have you noticed a huge difference from 2008 to now?

Secondly, how much do you beleive the games are evolving versus getting tougher? For example, i think the guys who wrote the mathematics of poker state that optimal poker, you should play in a manner that exploits your opponent (but in turn could be, and probably is, exploitable). So for example, are there a lot of plays you notice now that are reactive to exploit plays that were being over used some time in the past, but are in turn exploitable? Or are we just slowly but surely edging towards 'non-optimal but unexploitable poker'. Hope that question makes sense!

Lastly, something that is of significance to me personally - if you had to start over again playing 25NL 6-max, with the knowledge you had when that was your regular limit, could you find your way up to 1000NL easily enough? Or would it take years because of the current state of the games?

Sorry for so many questions - but thanks for your time!

hey, i wrote you a pm. but ill ask here too

Hey there, you wrote in your blog, that you would analyze some HandHistories and some villains. Could you demonstrate, in a Video how you do that ?! Especially how to analyze a specific villain. I and for sure a lot of others would profit from it.

maybe you could give just one or two examples of analyzing HHs and villains.

greetings

this is a good idea,i'd also be interested in a video in which you look for flaws in your own game,to give us an idea of how specifically you go about doing that.

also,in general,i would love to see videos from you that differ from the usual commenting on a session as you watch it format. obviously your game is clearly extremely good and i look forward to learning a lot from it,but it seems to me that a large part of your success is down to how you approach the game,so more stuff along those lines would be great.

What stake did you start at and how did you develop your game from the start?

Were you always focused and strong willed, or did you have to put a lot of work in to achieve strong mental and emotional control? How did you go about doing this, in any case?

Also, you said that most regulars have a strong post flop game, but very few of them actually play it. Would you mind elaborating on this?
No, like anyone else I definitely had to work on it, and still ahve to work on it, every day. I went about it step by step, beginning with becoming mindful of what I was thinking, feeling and basically becoming very introspective. A large part of it was to stop distracting myself with the things in life that have no real permanent value.

I think that most regs, in a vaccum, with 2 hours of time, would make much better decisions than they do at the table with real money involved and 30 seconds to spare. Thus, they have a game that they oftentimes are not implementing.

Ive never been a particularly organised person (although I have done well in school regardless); how would you recommend i seek to create structure in my poker life - so i can put in volume at the tables?
3) In the hand in your $200NL vid you talked about metagame in higher stakes. At what stakes did you find that metagame became a truly essential part of your game?
4) Do you ever play donkaments? If so, any big scores?
5) You have (as far as I have heard, read on 2+2, etc) come across as intelligent. What is your educational background?
6) Any tips on how BRM changes in terms of BIs in relation to stakes? By NL1k how had your BRM changed from say NL25
7) The sickest call you can remember making?

Keep up the good work. Nice first vid.
1) Very varied, but usually some type of alternative rock at home, hiphop in the car.
2) Well... become organised. You know the meaning of the word. Make structure a habit, and recognize that this will take willpower. Start day by day. There is no easy way around this one.
3) Not sure they are as essential as anyone thinks at any stake, but I would guess somewehere around 200 - 400 no limit.
4) No, and no.
5) 3 years law in university, currently studying theology in university.
6) Changes in realtion to your edge, of course. Less edge means larger bankroll.
7) In 21010 an A-high call with 4-straight on board by the time all was said and done, 200 bb deep. We both had flush draws.

What litterature(if any) did you study as you moved up the stakes, and in what way did you use it?

Johan
Tjena, och välkommen!

At the time I read the so-called classics, but not sure if they would be of much value today compared to say a video made by a decent player. But some of the titles were "Theory of Poker", "No limit Holdem Theory and Practice", and other such twoplustwo gems. I believe the first book I ever read was the Advanced Limit Hold-Em book by Sklansky and Malmuth.

But the way you are coming up is exactly similar to my own story. I was a true poker introvert coming up.
