When I was a freshmen in college, I found out about this live 1 / 2 game nearby and played there a decent amount. I didn't have a lot of money at the time but got caught up in the underground live scene. One night two guys busted in with guns, told everyone to get on the ground. They told everyone to take off their pants, (I briefly wasn't sure where they were going with that). They went around and put everyones pants in a bag, I'm assuming they felt that was the most efficient way to grab everyones wallet and keys.
I had a $1500 watch on and when they came in I put it in my pocket. Someone's phone went off and the robber pointed his gun at me and yelled at me to go get the guy's phone, I got up to do that and when I sat down I realized the watch was just on the chair, I sat on it, but then the robber yelled at me and said something like "get the fuck up, I see what the fuck you sitting on", said some other stuff, put the watch in his bag, but after they left, the watch was found in the corner of the other room and I got it back. The robber either dropped it or tossed it for whatever reason. He also pistol whipped the guy sitting next to me for basically no reason, left a reasonable cut on his nose.
After this the game moved to a different location and it got robbed again by two guys with guns. I got to keep my pants that time though.
Looking back on this time period, I think the live 1 / 2 underground scene was something I should have stayed away from. I would play long sessions 12 hours, sometimes play marathon 20+ , 24 hour sessions, then I would sleep for 16 - 20 hours, and then go back to the game and play more. I think that the game was virtually unbeatable with the rake and dealer tips. The money mostly got shifted around but eventually ends up with the house.
