Default 5/10 HU.

I have been playing this opponent for around 40 hands. He's been raising 100% of buttons and 3betting close to 50%. I've 4bet bluffed him once but other than that I've hand nothing remotely worthy of defending the 3bet too. I likely should have started to min-raise given how much he had been 3betting.

I think I'm fine with my defend, the flop and turn. There are obviously alot of things I can be calling the turn with and folding the river with in his mind. I believe he can likely hand read to some extent. When I get to the river I think I'm getting good enough odds that make the call fine?

1. don't post villain's actual holecards
2. I would prefer a 4bet bluff pre with a weak offsuit ace although you prob could make an argument for a call based on the width of villains 3betting range
3. Not sure if you should call down postflop all 3 streets or not (I'm a bit new to HU and play lower stakes). But I can def say that its thin and maybe more reads on his postflop play in 3bet pots would help us make a better decision. You could say that's an argument for folding turn, but again, I'm not 100% sure if this optimal.

Just 4bet him again or fold pf. I like flop call. I'd ranse if it was a bit more coordinated since I doubt he's bet/folding any pair on A high boards. I don't think he expects you to fold this river, and you should play most stronger hands the same way (and call river). Seems like he has ~AJ like every time on this river.

Pokerstove your hand against a reasonable value range, add his most likely bluffing hands. It's definitely close, and I don't hate a call. His gutters/random single club hands will bluff some %. He could also be just some random donkey given he's 3bet 50% hands so far.

The crazy 40-50% 3bettors are generally very aware of their "crazy" image. As such, this aggression is usually a pre-flop/flop combination. I rarely see them get out of line on the turn, or 3barrel b/c they know how you view them and have been waiting to take a stand.

So you have to be prepared to fold more turns/rivers in spots like this than you would otherwise.

They make things difficult for themselves preflop w/ this strategy but in their mind it's designed to pay dividends post flop when they have the goods.
