Villain was 40/40 with a 30% 3b...he rarely flatted OOP
I had only 3bet villain twice before this and the 2nd time I 3b him he 4b me. This was my next 3b.

very rare that you should 3b/fold AQ

Re: AQo v 2nd 4b from my opponent
Yup, Id be happy enough to get this in. And if he is 3 betting that much and not flatting I would lower my opens to min-raises or increase my opens to play more bloated pots IP and/or be willing to 4bet a wider range for value. Obv I would fold more of the trashy hands IP too until I had solid reads on tendencies.

I understand the min raising adjustment, but when you say "increase my opens to play more bloated...", are you saying that I should raise my normal range to say 4x or 5x pre? How would such a strategy be beneficial to me?

Re: AQo v 2nd 4b from my opponent
Because you get to play bigger pots IP. If you make it 4x then his 3bet will be larger. All depends on your postflop advantage when playing IP, thus having a stronger opening range will or at least should help you. His mistakes of being overly aggro preflop will be magnified by the pot size for his cbets postflop.

I'd get this in.
His 4bet sizing is really bad, though. Did he 4b to that amount the previous time as well?

Yeah def, his 4bet sizing is really bad, also I think since he's aggro shoving AQ is here good.
You can minraise as a defense to a habitual 3bettor, however I just enjoy tightening up my opening range on the button instead and playing 3bet pots ip
