Default Banrollmanagement

Hi - I'm thinking of starting to play some NL100 HU in addition to 6max so I wanted to ask how many buyins you should usually have and how big a normal swing should be.
Maybe someone could tell me if there are any differences between the rake you pay on fulltilt or on pokerstars and where the opponents play much worser. Or maybe another site which got the most fishes and the lowest rake.

Thanks for the answers in advance

- Paul

Since you can still replenish your bankroll from 6-max, I think about 30 would be enough to take your shot at HU. If you lose 5 buyins you still have a working bankroll for nl100 and can rebuild. Swings in small stakes HU aren't that big if you have an good edge.

Ok you say "because small sakes swing arent that big - So what swings would be normal in bigger stakes? I normally prefer to play overrolled as I'm running pretty bad since over 100k hands and had lots of coachings but everyone told me Im just too unlucky and need to grind it out - So I'd like to take some more and make it a bit conservative - What about the Rake? Is there any difference between Stars/FTP etc? I think the rake is not that easy to beat as it is pretty high on the small stakes.

My guess would be that your standard deviation would be about double of what it is in 6-max. Note that if you have a high winrate, you won't 'feel' the swings as much since the swings will be skewed to the plus side. That is, you won't have too bad of negative swings.

Arf my results say something else - dropped 9 Stacks yesterday - losing AA KK and QQ in 4bet pots always vs 25o 5To and 79s - guy was a maniac - sick how the cards dont like me - But im sure that if the cards run your way you can make a very sick winrate on those small stakes because the people play so bad and push any flushdraw in my sets (62s) etc and they push there whole 100bb in it - but hit atm ;/.
You guys maybe have some links to some headsupstrategy articles? Would be very interested in it. Thx

Btw what about a "normal" winrate in HU ? What can you achieve in these small stakes and how big should your sample size be? (if you would say 3ptbb is normal in 6max)

People I've talked to say that you can double your 6-max winrate with good selection.

What sort of winrate would a good consistant HU player get? how's that compare to 6max game?

How many table hours do I need to work out a realistic winrate myself?

winrate HU is kinda a moot point. it will depend so much on your game selection. just find good games and you will win money

yes i agree. Any tips on game selection? i mean do I need to play a number of hands with that opponent before I know this is the soft game? or I simply have to watch the tables first and choose my opponent?

i like to play opponents who are calling stations and play a lot of hands oop. also its nice when they are too tight (or limp instead of raise) on their button
