Default How to adjust to Btn min raise

What is the best way to play an opponent who min raises or 2.5x the Btn?

I understand that if the villain opens the btn with a min raise then we are getting a great price to call.

But how wide should we be calling or should be taking the aggressive route and 3betting pre oop?

I have a range I usually gravitate towards but it mostly depends on how they play postflop for me.

The calling range is going to depend still on their frequency of their opens (some ppl minraising may be opening less than others who are 3x'ing) as well as their post flop abilities. 3betting as an effect is going to be sized smaller since less money is in the pot, which also lays opponents better odds to peel flops if they wish

After much thought I feel that flatting oop is probably best in general rather than 3betting. We can still simply call opens from the btn even with strong hands. Generally flatting the open seems to be a strong move to do HU. I just hate the fact that we are oop.

I feel like 3betting preflop can give us control but it's probably not profitable HU to be doing it consistently.

So maybe flatting a min raise open and and c/r certain flop textures that can theoretically hit our range. Can give us the chance to take back incitiative (position sort of) and put pressure on are opponents post flop. We can do this for value and as a bluff to stat balanced I guess.

I know it really varies on how much villain opens and also plays post flop like the both of you said but let's say villain is min raising absolutely almost 80-90% of btns? How would you tailor range? Hopefully that's a little more specific.

If they're opening that much you can 3-bet more for value and call more but I'm not the best person to ask because I still 3-bet and call less than I should. As far as it depending on opening frequencies I think even if a villain is opening as tight as 35% it's correct in theory to call a ton of hands but it depends more on their postflop tendencies for me as to how much I want to call because I hate playing oop.

hm its really important how people play postflop, if they are very tight and cbet a lot, u cant play much wider than 40ish % oop, if they check back a lot u can actually call some more Khigh hands, some more suited semiconnected stuff. If they play weak vers 3bets u can 3bet hands like Q6s, J4s as a std and increase you BB VPIP even more, taking you to 50-55%.
In general 3betting is gonna be cool vers non-4bettors, but i dont think its necessary in general vers 2x-openers.
etc etc etc :-)
