How do i play optimally vs this opponent?

this is a vague question in general, but im have a really tough time vs opponents with stats like 71 bb / 8 sb c bet 53% double brld 47%/ 3b 44% cb 100% --

I started 4 betting -- he shoved on me 3/4 of the time
I started raising less btns and raising a ton of flops-- he started shoving with under pairs
I tryed adjusting by calling lighter.. he had top+---
How do i beat this type of opponent?
Was it just variance?

I feel like vs players like this im always being put to really difficult decision's.

I would think one PF adjustment would be to minraise button and flat more 3 bets. Vs someone that is playing so aggressive pre and post you should be able to get good value. Don't worry about feeling like you are getting run over. I would just try to make hands and let him bet into you.
