FLOP ($9) 8 7 J
Hero checks, checks
TURN ($9) 8 7 J T
Hero ?
What's your default play early on vs an unknown reg? When he checks the flop, it looks like he has worse than Jx but better than air and I can at least rep some 9x + might have 6 more outs vs 1pair is he calls with it.

I usually would stab small early in a match vs an unknown. One, I could win the hand or see a cheap showdown for info. Obviously, a raise wouldn't shock me and its an easy fold.

Would you also fire the river if he just calls? I think that's really tough without any reads because he might not always raise 9x but he might also peel one of with 2pair or even 1pair, not putting me on 9x all that often.

Re: NL50: 3b AK, superdrawy board
checking turn and betting river if you don't think he has much air is kinda sexy, i don't hate a turn bet either but i don't think i would fire blanks if he calls, he'll have a decent amount of 9x and if he called turn with a pair or two pair is because he expected you to not have a 9 a healty amount of the times so he'll probably hero 1pair+ some % of the time

Re: NL50: 3b AK, superdrawy board
I C-bet close to 100% when i 3bet. But thats a pretty crappy board that hits his range much beter then yours so i guess a check is fine. As you played it i would check the turn again and pretty much give up.

Re: NL50: 3b AK, superdrawy board
Id cbet the flop.
If I decide to check the flop I probably check to give up, I donīt think we have enough FE to bet the turn and or enough equity of our own to be betting cause there are some outs that are counter fitted.
If the turn goes check/check betting river could be good.

There's no way a better hand folds turn and betting turn+river is super spew.
