Default NL50: two 3b pots early on

So I sat with this guy from the netherlands, no reads whatsoever going into the match.
He 3bet my first BTN open, I 3bet his BTN open, this is the 3rd hand:

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.50(BB) Replayer
($50)
Hero ($51.50)

Dealt to Hero 9 A

Hero raises to $1.25, raises to $4.50, Hero calls $3.25

FLOP ($9) 6 9 2

bets $5.50, Hero calls $5.50

TURN ($20) 6 9 2 9

checks, Hero bets $11, folds

Thought a second about raising the flop but that's probably too early w/o any history really. I think I'll get it in very bad or slightly ahead.

3 successful BTN steals were following this hand, then we played this pot:

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.50(BB) Replayer
($50.50)
Hero ($60.50)

Dealt to Hero J T

Hero raises to $1.25, raises to $5, Hero calls $3.75

FLOP ($10) 7 9 9

bets $6.50, Hero ?

Call or raise this? If you decide to call, how would you play under/overcard turns when he bets again?

i actually like raising early on, you can jam heart-turns, its not a desaster if he jams over your raise, and the turns that hit you look like they hit you, so your implied odds for calling arent that awesome.
Also, bluffraising and getting caught is really good for your image here, raising and not getting caught likewise (obv the other way round..).

@flippity: My thoughts were very similar, I was a bit hesitant though because JT might be just too strong to r/f. I think a raise represents a lot of draws and not so many 9x combos early on. However, he probably won't shove very light and as you pointed out there are some positive metagame effects.
