Re: 1k nl hu deep with QQ in 4b pot
I actually like the way you thought about this hand OK. You're basically right about preflop: when you are opening min with 300bb you leave 6 or 7 possible bets preflop. So, if it goes 20/60/233/588/1075/jam, and you are the guy who made it 1075, I'm gonna go ahead and say you are a substantial dog against oop's 6ball range. So, if you are 4betting a polarized range with these stacks and player types, your value range should be AKs, KK, and AA. If you decide to 4bet AKo and QQ, then you are already not playing a polarized range. I'm not going to tell you whether to play a polarized range or not, but I will say that you need to have a plan for the strong but non-nut hands you decide to 4bet. It doesn't sound like you had a plan for QQ, but I'm guessing you would have gone ahead and called the 5bet in position and then tried to get to showdown. That's fine, but just remember to think about your range.
Given your read that villain shows early street aggression, I don't mind your checkback since your weak made hand range gets owned by an aggro cr and turn barrel strategy. I suspect you made the turn raise because you think villain plays well against your hand on most rivers- bluffing a correct amount when the board gets complicated and not bluffing too often when the board doesnt change. So, if your turn raise buys you a free showdown on cards like the 8h, then I don't mind the raise. If villain is going to 3ball you with a balanced range, as well as call sometimes and lead-bluff rivers, then all you accomplish by raising is losing yourself a bigger pot when he 3bets, and facing yourself with the same difficult river decision in a bigger pot when he calls.
