HU turn facing C/R
Villain is TWOSHAE on stars.
We haven't played that much HU, and haven't faced any c/r's in these kinda spots before from him. My cbet % isnt that high so I can arrive at the turn with a bunch of stuff I can semi bluff with. His turn lead is pretty high too. His call open from BB is 28% this match.
We calling or folding here?

Re: HU turn facing C/R
cbet flop usually and probably call turn/call river, this is like the strongest hand in the history of strong hands that you could possibly have on the turn.

Game theory wise I'm aware we are well at the top of our range, but practically don't most people just lead this turn as a semi bluff instead of going for a c/r?
Any ways I clicked call and river was a K. Villain checked called a close to pot size bet and showed down 6's before saying something like "shocking". He might have been talking about his river call, im not sure. But if a reg ever crits my play I find it useful for checking if those spots I think are standard are really that standard.

Re: HU turn facing C/R
everyone seems to suggest a cbet on the flop, would this make your range include more pocket pairs and flush draws? Would it be likely for him to call most cbets anyways considering most people are opening almost all of their buttons so you would be facing the same decision on the turn that you would have if you checked with just a bigger pot?

Re: HU turn facing C/R
Pete,
The way to approach this hand is to map out your flop cbet range, and then map out your turn betting range on this card. If villain can auto-profit by checkraising whatever your turn betting range is, then that's a really bad thing. If villain can checkraise all his strongest hands for a much greater profit than he can by leading them, that's also a bad thing, but not as bad.
You can also decide to play more exploitatively by making some assumptions with regard to villain's play. I can't help you here. But, as an example, say you assume 'villain won't bluff CR turn enough for me to want to call without K + FD or better.' That will do a ton of work for you, and you need to shift your strategy accordingly. But it seems like you are asking us "Hey guys, I didn't think villain would ever CR this turn, but then he did. Am I wrong for thinking he wouldn't?" I can't really help you with that, aside from the fact that in my games, I expect almost all villains to check/raise turn with a polarized range with some frequency.
