Default [nl1000 6max] KJo interesting nuts spot

No-Limit Hold'em, $10.00 BB (6 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

SB ($1082)
BB ($452)
UTG ($602)
MP ($1137)
Hero (CO) ($1040)
Button ($1092)

Preflop: Hero is CO with K, J
UTG calls $10, MP bets $30, Hero calls $30, 3 folds, UTG raises $50, MP calls $30, Hero calls $30

Flop: ($195) K, K, J (3 players)
UTG checks, MP checks, Hero ?

Hi everyone. So UTG is a fish 54/29 w/ a 28% 3bet over 45 hands (so far all of them were some small or min3bets). MP is passiv on stars, who is pretty active opening preflop this session. How would you extract value in this spot? Fish has $542 left. I think he's not probably folding on this flop if I bet. Bet how much? Is there any merit to check behind?

Mate, hate to break it to you, but this hand isn't remotely interesting. If you don't bet the flop you can't get stacks in easily by the river.

The merit to checking behind is if you think that they're always folding and they're likely to pay you off if they make a pair or something... In general its good to bet cuz its the easiest way to get stacks in as ^ said.

really the only merit to checking behind is if the player is absurdly tight on the flop but extremely aggressive on later streets (specifically, LIKELY to b3b bluff some rivers or turns or something because he thinks you'd never check back a FH on the flop). the circumstances are so absurdly rare, especially in today's games, that i'd do it extremely seldomly.

Well I mean, reg SO rarely is going to give any action on this flop, just hard to think about a hand which he's going to put a single buck in this pot except for a king himself. Well, fish is not going to fold on the flop I think, but we can get the money in against him on turn and river either way.

Thanks for the answers anyway. The last question: if you bet, what sizing would you choose here?

if you're betting 3 streets here you're basically hoping mp has a K, and expects you to stab a lot on the flop, hence his check - which is unlikely cuz any reg knows that bluffing mp here is awful. Also, does mp usually iso small like that? i think that weights his range towards weaker hands. I'd check.

we want to get the most value, if we can get stacks in then great, but sometimes that just isnt feasible

I'd check, I don't think I would ever bluff here given the line UTG has taken and it's so easy to get the money in on 2 streets vs the fish.

You're not gonna win a lot of money from MP unless it's a cooler where big money goes in regardless cause he can't really put you on a bluff. Just hope that MP will turn something that he will call the fish's lead on the turn with, and by then you pretty much can get the stacks in if MP did turn or river something good.

I think they may call some stuff down for 2 or 3 streets like Jx,QQ,AA,Kx,QT so I'd lean towards betting
