A q for omguraemofugginjones
I'm sure anybody could answer me this question but imo this question is specific to aaron, well maybe chewy (and a few other HS players as well), lol so yeah, anyone.
I'm going to be starting playing NL soon. I've been learning for over a year (Ben Sulsky taught me nearly everything he knows (via his blog)) and am ready to crush. I've got a good handle on NLHE and want to be good at this game. I feel theorywise, I almost understand the majority of concepts but need lots and lots of practical experience before I could even call myself a competent player. The question I want answering is (I dont know if this is the right term but) 'existential' in essence.
And it is, do I have to learn other forms of poker to consider myself a poker player? Now as far as I know, aejones and luckychewy only play NLHE, although that assumption could be v v v v wrong (just from knowing their videos on leggo), so in general, should I be planning months down the road to begin transitioning to PLO because that's what elite players do? Or should I just intend to be a killer at NL, and be content that Ivey and Antonius and Oppenheim can do it all?
The question is, am I really a poker player or not, if I'm solely focussed on 1 game, No Limit, and happy learning the game, developing as a player and grinding out the rent money?
