Default Anyone interested in pokersites?

Guys,

I am considering to sell my (dutch) pokersites.
Reason being, I had a nice 125$ CPA deal on FTP - but I am too small and too little involved in the affiliate world to get good deals for Stars, Party and iPoker.

Therefore, a new buyer could add a lot more value by improving the deals I currently have.
I am no top notch SEO engineer / link builder so (hiring) anyone with advanced SEO skills could add value as well.

Additional future growth comes from iDeal continuously growing as a prefered online payment method. In the Netherlands it's already the most used payment option and it is in the run to become the new online payment standard for the euro zone.

Another growth driver can be the opening of the dutch gambling market: The current ruling party in the Parliament (VVD) has been trying to find acceptable ways to open up the market for online gambling.

The sites have continuous streams of traffic and revenue, I can show track record since january 2010. If interested, feel free to PM me for details.

Another thing: if anyone is familiar with the usual revenue multiples in this type of business, I'd be curious to learn more!

Default Re: Anyone interested in pokersites?

I had a question about the background and sort of pokersites these are, so for those interested:

The sites are of a different sort than Leggopoker. They are built around some basic poker content (strategy articles, getting started, poker as a side job, room reviews, online deposit methods) and designed to generate clicks on affiliate deals.

The purpose of these sites is to create steady streams of low maintenance income. Every day a new kid turns 18 and wants to try poker. If you can attract these starters to your websites by ranking well on search engines, you can hook them up with the big sites. Internet pro's have accounts at all major websites, they need attention and tailor made RB deals. The starters just wanna know how to get started and have their deposit bonus.

I've studied at a tech university with lots of ICT minded students, at some point a few friends were (and still are) trying to build websites around a theme to provide a steady stream of income. (Dreaming of the 4hr work week).

They built apps and sites around themes like cosmetics, casino's, poker, backgammon, green energy, colour advice etc. The idea is to get these sites to rank well on commercial google search terms. Their sites are tailored to search engines and high conversion rates.

The business model is to increase the $/visitor (affiliate deals + conversion%) and the # of visitors (google ranks).

I've tried a bit on my own as I have the obvious edge at poker content.

End of 2009 I bought 2 websites for 1000€ (approx $1400 and created 1 myself.) just for the change, I was writing my thesis and didn't want the variance of playing so I wrapped my head around this experiment. I must admit that I am not the best SEO engineer and gave up too quickly once I graduated.

But all in all it turned out to be a very profitable investment at ~80% ROI / yr.
The best thing is that after my initial efforts (Q1 2010) I didn't do anything with the sites anymore and yet the traffic and income stream proved to be very steady.

The sites make $0.47 on average per visitor, while traffic is a little seasonal but on average around 450 / month.
