Interesting.

On mad money, jim cramer said thursday that JNJ was one of the worst run companies on the stock exchange.

I own JNJ (only through index funds like VTI) I would be curious on why you like their management though...I have no opinion really, but always hear bad things.

I think he dislikes William Weldon but still likes JNJ. I've owned JNJ for 15+ years and I can't think of a more consistent and solid stock when looking at the last 15 years. I've never been big on investing in foreign stocks because there are so many uncertainties about investing in foreign countries especially third world countries. I've never been a big fan of diversification. I think your money is better invested in a US company. Hope this helps

Thanks for the insight. Like I said, I know next to nothing about JNJ management so it's always good to get different opinions.

Any good books you might recommend that you've read over your life?

Double Your Money in America's Finest Companies by Bill Staton. I think he just put out a new edition a few years ago. There's definitely material out there with authors that have a higher profile or more publicity, but this book is as solid as it gets. I was lucky enough to read this book in 1995 when I started investing in stocks and I've used it ever since. It's pretty basic and a lot of it is common sense, but if you follow what he says and religiously invest every month and reinvest all dividends I think you'll be happy with the results

If you read it, I'll be more than happy to discuss it with you. John
