Re: LeggoCast #15 - aejones and BobboFitos
Does the NBA do stat corrections? The Lakers played tonight and with 47.5 seconds left in OT Pau Gasol was credited with his 6th assist on a defensive rebound followed by an outlet pass to Fisher followed by a pass to Artest followed by a pass to Odom for a lay up.
I've had league pass all year and have seen far too many games but I'm confused on this one as I generally haven't seen any stat corrections in the league.

Hi Bobbo, I just wondered what is the "end game" for monetizing your infatuation with basketball. Do you sports bet? Are you going to be building up and monetizing PPP? Would you ever consider getting into coaching of some sort or marketing your analysis to teams?

Generally no. I do know 2 years ago LBJ had a "triple double", but his last rebound was actually boarded by Ben Wallace. There was a minor outcry, the league rescinded his rebound, and Big Ben got it.

I sports bet 2 years ago. It was +EV, but the thing about sportsbetting is the issue isn't so much having a better model (although that takes a lot of work and time), but getting money onto betting sites, getting the best lines, and so on. Basically, the little things aren't as little as I thought.
No idea what we're going to do w/ PPP; right now we just want to maintain an analytic site w/ regular podcasts. The idea is to imitate ESPN insider or something like that, although only Basketball Prospectus (I think) make money from bball/articles and the like. One of my very good friends actually works for an NBA team, and although that would be fun, it's not really an immediate goal of mine.

I hope the Celtics win it all, but I think the Heat will.
Hodgepodge of Heat, Lakers, Bulls, Celtics, Spurs, and Thunder all have title equity, probably in that order.

how do u pick the heat when they're 1-8 or something like that against NBA's top teams this season? Do you think they're just gonna turn it up in the playoffs or something?
edit: to clarify i think the Heat can win it, I just don't think they're my #1 choice

I don't think they'll win it, I just think they have a bit greater chance than anyone, is all. I think it's close between the top 5-6 teams.
