Default 400nl .. 2nd pair ... donk leads

stacks $400

Hero (CO) opens to $14 with K T or J 8
2 folds
BB-Fish calls $14

Flop (pot $30) T J 3
BB-Fish bets $16
Hero .... ?

My standard here is to flat with anything under TP2k including Tx/JQ/J9/J8

Q1 Am I missing value by not raising?

Q2 If we raise with TK/J9 type hands, do we raise small-ish to about $38 and bet small-ish like 60% on turn also?

What do you know about donk's barreling tendencies?

If he's the type that fires one with his 63o, 55, 66 hands to see where he's at than just call and play turn perfect.

If he's the type that donks his draws and marginal pairs, calling any raise and checking any turn.. then raise and get a cheap showdown.

If donk is mega aggro and will click it back often, sometimes even jam / reraise big with a ton of hands, then obviously just call

In general when donks first lead into me on this type of board I raise it up with a very wide range to see what happens.

Well ... havent played much... maybe 20 hands .. .but he has limped a couple of times and seems pretty fishy pf atleast.

So other than that, i have no read on what he leads with.

Yeh without reads I will raise with air alot more than 2nd pair tho .. so was wondering about with something like KT here with no read further than they seem fishy

I raise AJ/KJ and i've seen some people do it well with QJ, but I think you need a better read on you opponents pf range and spaz out tendencies for that. Anything else is a call.

Yeh that has been my standard, but I wonder with tp if we are missing value here.

I mean, his range is draws, Tx/Jx, and some airy crap
If we have a J (even a weak J) then he has 1.5x as many Tx hands as Jx hands (since 2 J's left and 3 T's left), so by raising, we get more value from those to more than make up when we occasionally are outkicked by a better J. It's already much more profitable to raise I think. And now that we get much more value from draws also, it seems that raising flop with all JX might be significantly more profitable than a call.

If we have a T, then there is 1.5 times more Jx hands as Tx hands and it becomes closer.

Sometimes I feel like I miss too much value against these bigger fish, and this might well be a spot.
Thoughts on raising all Jx inc J9 ... maybe small to about 36 or 38, bet 60% on turn, and small-ish on river like 1/3 with TPNK ?

When you raise weaker Jacks and Tens you end up valuetowning yourself more than you gain additional value.
