600nl trips turn, action?
Hi guys,
this is my 1st post here so let me quickly introduce myself. I'm a 23yo, play poker professionaly for 2 years now, I live in Malta. I used to play 2/4 - 5/10$ on FTP (you can see playing with Sir Aejones in one of his videos...). After FTP shut down, I moved to the .fr sites starting from 100nl. I recently moved up to 400nl, and this was my first shoot in 600nl on this site.
So here's the HH :
Table: 'Krakσw' 9-max (real money) Seat #2 is the button
Seat 1: famfontaine (1598.43)
Seat 2: webem (410)
Seat 3: Hero (1929.44)
Seat 4: TINTIN13 (904)
Seat 5: Donald47 x (600)
Seat 6: jigsaw8855 (600)
Seat 7: Tchayouu (580.74)
Seat 8: xx78clemxx (600)
ANTE/BLINDS
Hero posts small blind 3
TINTIN13 posts big blind 6
Dealt to Hero
[QC] [10C]
PRE-FLOP
Tchayouu folds
xx78clemxx folds
famfontaine folds
webem calls 6
Hero raises 24 to 30
TINTIN13 calls 24
webem calls 24
FLOP
[QD] [2H] [JD]
Hero bets 57
TINTIN13 calls 57
webem folds
TURN
[QD] [2H] [JD] [QS]
Hero checks
TINTIN13 bets 250
BB (TINTIN13) is Cyril Andre, one of the best player of the site and the biggest winner on the dot fr sites so far. He is trying to outplay me a lot, by 3-betting most of my open, I've seen him calling my 4bet with QTo OOP, he also likes to float imo. So basically really tough to play especially OOP.
A few rounds earlier, we were playing 4 handed, the fish opened, I 3-bet, and he cold 4bet/folded after my small 5bet.
So preflop and flop is standart I guess, now turn I hit trips. I decided to check mostly for induce. Vilain overbets, it means for me that his range is polarised between draws/air and Qx. I don't think he would overbet Jx for value, neither to turn it into a bluff.
So now I have to choices : shove or call (obviously folding is not...). What do you guys think is the best?
The problem is, if I check/call this turn, I still represent a strong hand, so he would probably give up his bluffs, so is it better to just ship-it for value/protection?

call for sure, your hand looks a lot like Jx or KK/AA which he may try to move you off with a river bluff. Jamming I dont think ever gets called by worse except maybe Q9s but will protect you from him getting there w/ his draws (a lot of his good ones I'm guessing would have raised that flop so more likely he has like KT or something) but I'd be looking to bait him into getting another 600 by just flatting.

would you lead if the river bricks off? or is it always a checkraise on the river if the board hits a blank?

River lead looks pretty strong and folds out his air unless you are betting to induce some kind of jam. I also would not cr trips with a weak kicker on a brick

is the best line on the river to just lead here 3/4 pot and hope to get paid off or is it worth to bet small to induce a shove? What is the ideal bet sizing for bet on the river if the board runs out a 5 of hearts which is about as big a blank as there could be?

Re: 600nl trips turn, action?
donk betting river for value is generally never a great idea when most of villains range consists of bluffs. just let him continue bluffing if he has a hand like 9T that whiffed, we profit by c/c
donk betting to induce a bluff is usually not good either, unless there is history to warrant such a play.
Most noteworthy part of the hand is that he is overbetting turn and we are also 150 bb deep! River can be pretty hard to play if he shoves a completed draw, and relies a ton on ur read, gameflow, and timing.

if i would donk the river it'd be like 1/5-1/3 of the pot hoping to get raised
that said: i'd (almost) never do it

His play I think is just so good with everything he's holding but a jack, but that doesn't matter because he probably will just never do it with a jack. It seems to me one of those spots where if you are up against a tough player and he's putting you in lots of spots where you don't feel good about calling, that when you have a hand that blocks a decent chunk of his value range like you do here, you should probably just call/call just about every river unless you've specifically seen him overbet turn and give up on rivers before.

Re: 600nl trips turn, action?
man this really is a close spot. i'd call since there is no FD out there. i expect him to like never bluff you on the river, but he probably has a straight draw at best and i don't think protection is that necessary on a board paired and flush drawless.
also, i really like the turn check.
im honestly not sure if i love preflop, but it depends on how bad the limper is ofc.

i think call ;o.
shoving cant be that bad because he can probably play river spots pretty good but i like shoving turn more too if there is a fd.
