Default Playing a draw in 3bet pot oop. Play along!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?4452678

This wasn't a hand I played but it was one that got me thinking, because its a spot I think I misplay/ feel very uncertain about. I'm hoping to play this hand out street by street to see what you guys think is the optimal way to play the hand.

In this hand 'hero' has a good clean image playing 24/21/3 and 3betting about 9% of the time. The villian plays somewhat similiar. They both are decent winning players who can mix up their play.

The hero has 3bet 89 from the blinds and flopped a straight draw, First off, should he bet or c/c this flop?

I think betting this out is pretty much the default play here. I feel like check/calling will lead to a lot of guessing on later streets without a given dynamic of check/calling flops in rr pots. Say if we were villain, what would we expect his check/calling range to be? Mainly weak made hands I'd say, so we can expect to get barreled aggressively. I think without a specific dynamic our hand just plays better with initiative on the flop. I think it's interesting to have a strategy of check/calling draws here though, just awkward to balance. I also think that given the way you described both players, it's probably +ev to bet 3-bet this draw here given stacks.

Ok, i agree with betting and like cntgetmedown's reasoning too. So the hero in this hand bets 52dollars and gets called. The pot on the turn is 190.

What do you think you should do on the following cards (which dont give us any backdoor flush draws);

a) 2

b) Queen or higher.

If you bet how much do you bet? (190 pot) and do you plan to bet/fold or bet/call. (Note the 400 effective stacks on the turn)

Or would you crai?

(To The End, did you see we are 125bb deep preflop, do you think its still ok to bet/3bet? If it was 100bb deep i would do the same, i'm just not sure when 125bb deep)

I think 125bb is still fine to bet/3bet. Obv depends on his raise size, but usually I'd bet 65 or so on the flop, he might make it 160 and I shove for 400.

I would barrel most turns because he's not that likely to raise with anything in his range on this dry of a board anyway
