Default top of my range? vs good reg

CO: $408.30
Hero (BTN): $506.55
SB: $371.05
BB: $406.00
UTG: $433.60
MP: $357.00

Pre Flop: ($6.00) Hero is BTN with J 9
3 folds, Hero raises to $10, 1 fold, BB calls $6

Flop: ($22.00) 8 K T (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($22.00) 7 (2 players)
BB bets $14, Hero raises to $50, BB calls $36

River: ($61.00) 4 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero ?

villian is def a solid tag reg, who likes to c/r flops w/ a pretty balanced and merged range that includes total air and top pair hands. I elect to check back for this reason. I think the turn is a pretty mandatory raise, what should my river sizing be and should i call a check/shove?

I think this is a bet/fold. I would make around 50 as there are a ton of worse hands that would call you and I don't think you'll see a lot of non flush made hands turned into bluffs.

With your description of villan I like checking back the flop. Your turn line looks so FOS. This leads me to want to overbet 100 on the river. He will never try to bluff you here and he is calling with so much crap. Overall, good line. But I'm folding to a check shove if you overbet.

Edit: Actually, I don't think I'm folding to a check/shove even if we overbet. He never has a flush here since the hand you rep best is Ad and he would probably re-raise the turn. You basically have the nuts right now unless villan is super tricky.

Pot should be 120ish on river. Still overbet?

just read 2p2 thread. checking back flop is fine. raising turn is mandatory, river bet is mandatory. on river if in doubt just click call top of range blah blah. can def be a b/f if you have reads though

i think it depends a lot on his timing. i wouldnt expect him to be check-shoving very often though.
