Default 25nl 3bpot overshove riv

villain plays 20 16 kinda solid taggy.
first time I 3b at this table, no further history.

BTN: $25.33
SB: $33.36
Hero (BB): $25.00
UTG: $80.52
MP: $23.11
CO: $20.00

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is BB with 6 A
3 folds, BTN raises to $0.63, 1 fold, Hero raises to $2.50, BTN calls $1.87

Flop: ($5.10) 3 5 J (2 players)
Hero bets $2.75, BTN calls $2.75

Turn: ($10.60) J (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

River: ($10.60) Q (2 players)
[color=red]Hero bets $19.75 all in

I think I can get him to fold pps, ak and aq, kq, qt.

Do you like it? Is shove so he can fold his qx and he could think I have jx in my range.

First of all i think ur sizing pre is too big. I also think it's almost always better to fold this pre.

And no, i dont like it, because you don't rep anything. I would call you down here very light

I dont mind the 3b as you have the ace blocker, unless he has a low fold to 3b off course. Would of made it about $2.25 though.

If your confident you can get him to fold the hands you've stated, I prefer another 1/2 pot bet on the turn, then jamming $15 river, as said you dont rep much checking turn jamming river.

I'm never 3 betting this hand... so many others I'd rather use. But hey, that's just me.

I like the turn give up and would have checked river as well. You can't in them all. If I were to bet river I think a normal bet reps an overpair or AQ more effectively.

I'm not a fan on the 3bet pre. U will have better hands in ur range to 3bet with then A6o. 3betings this is most likely just gonna get u into trouble.

As played I would just c/f river I think. FWIW I don't think villain will ever fold a Q, if he is getting to the river with any. Jaming river looks pretty bluffy to me, so u can def get looked up. And it has to work alot of the time to be profitable.

How comes no-one likes the 3b pre? Maybe my thought process on 3-betting is all wrong. I thought the idea was to get folds with our bluff hands, whilst building a LAGGY image so we get paid off with our value hands? If thats the case then surely hands with blocker value are better? I understand gappers etc play better when called, but isnt the objective to get folds and not actually see a flop with these hands?

I'm capable of doing all the things you mentioned with that hand types you mentioned while using better hands than this. Suited As for example. I don't think it's a terrible 3 bet or anything but I think I could easily 3 bet 7% while not resorting to 3 betting hands that play so poorly postflop.

If we had a read he only 4 bets or folds to 3 bets then 3 betting this hand becomes quite good. So in some ways we just don't have the information required to make a simple is it good or bad decision on this specific 3 bet.
