Have seen it pretty often in vids from good coaches.

How good? I'd flame them too fwiw. CO has 8 big blinds in this spot which makes it especially bad, but in general I just can't think of a spot (that occurs more often than say once every 200k hands) where raising wouldn't be superior. I know I bore people to death with initiative, balance, keeping ranges wide yada yada but this stuff matters
Joey, I don't think you should assign too much thinking to a guy who overlimps this spot. Maybe I'm being disrespectful or just plain realistic. It's basically a level one game of how often he has hands of sufficient absolute strength to call. We expect Jx to fold probably, Kx rarely, QT always, flushes never. It's about as close to break even a spot as you'll find. What would make it less so is more exact use of stats, ie what's his BTN raise, his BTN limp, his fold to cbet (giving an idea of this general cally propensity) yada yada. In a vacuum, generic 22/16, then who the fuck knows to be honest! Instinctively I want to shove, but I'd want to be much better informed.
