Oh, you're right. Was thinking about a different hand while posting this.

Without a lot of equity and vs. an unknown, I think you can give up pretty safely here.

that's an interesting question...

Couldn't we bet here as a blocking bet against BB's weaker ace range? If we check, he can take the lead w/AQ or AT, meaning we have to c/c on this nothing flop to avoid a mistake. It's possible he doesn't have a very wide weaker ace range given his call pre, but against an unknown this is difficult to say.

If we do c/c flop, we're in a fairly untenable position on the turn- we can take the lead, which seems bad as it just folds out all worse hands, or we can c/c again, meaning to catch him on a 2nd barrel, however i'm not sure he 2nd barrels often enough for this to be profitable, he's betting this more often for value than as a bluff.

Thus a c/c is bad, and hard to play oop thereafter. By leading flop we're merely protecting ourselves from making the mistake of folding a better hand.

maybe the his PP range, or FD range, or Jx range combined outweigh his Ax or Kx or SC range, and that's why i'm wrong here
