Default 50nl river vbet vs fish

Villain is 30/7 over 80 hands. have folded to 2/3 cbets.

$0.25/$0.50 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 5 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

Hero (SB): $113.19
BB: $50.75
UTG: $23.71
CO: $43.17
BTN: $114.64

Pre-Flop: J A dealt to Hero (SB)
UTG folds, CO calls $0.50, BTN folds, Hero raises to $2.25, BB folds, CO calls $1.75

Flop: ($5) K J K (2 Players)
Hero bets $3, CO calls $3

Turn: ($11) 5 (2 Players)
Hero bets $7, CO calls $7

River: ($25) 2 (2 Players)
Hero bets $10, CO raises to $30.92 and is All-In, Hero folds

Sth I've done a lot lately is to take really exploitable betsizes vs weaker players. But so far it havn't worked out well. I'm getting raised alooot. Dunno if its because of variance of because they just see it as weakness and jam. The latter seems a bit unlikely to me. What do u think? Also do u like the river valuebet, or would u have done sth else?

i would check call the flop, decent chance if he has a King he checks back thus keeping the pot small its also difficult to get calls from worse a lot of the time. i would bet 3/4 on the turn and consider check calling a river based on timing tells

I think betting the flop is a lot better then c/c when thinking that we have 3 streets to play. When c/c we are letting him control the size of the pot which we don't want to. He is a fish, so its not hard to get called by worse.

I think we have better EQ vs his callingrange compared to his bettingrange otr. He is gonna check back sooo many Jx hands that otherwise would have called a bet. And he might or might not peel the turn with gutshots. Even if he is, he might not be bluffing them otr when checked to since he seemed really passive. Same goes for QT. This is ofc the way I look at it.

I think you played it well. Flop, turn and river bets i like because worse jacks always call, river bet is fine I think to b/f, I just can't see a 30/7 bluff shoving you here anyway near often enough for you to make the call.

I like it too. Don't see anything wrong with a larger river bet though. $15 or so.

I play it the same and fold river.

I like the river sizing to get calls from 77/88 type hands.

i am not sure about turn bet, i would check and see what he does. If he bet i fold as he must have a K, if he checkes behind i fire nice value bet on the river.

on that board only worst of the fishes will call a c-bet with Jx or some small pair and 7/30 is not that big of a fish. once called on the flop i like to control the pot size.

As to river bet sizing, if i do small bet like this is not for value but for bluff induce from fish. If he reraises me there (then my plan to induce him worked) i have to call as i was hoping for this to happen. If you want to value bet, then bet more. Remember that if you get two folds for $15 river bet but evbery third will be a call you will be better off then getting donks calling 8 out of 10 $5 bets.

I'd be fist pumping if there was a 30/7* at my table?

Plus I think checking the turn is a waste, value betting is way better imo because I think we get value from a fish calling down light more often than when we try to induce spazzy plays.

Ya checking turn vs a fish would be a pretty big mistake I think.

when a fish that folds to c-bets most of the time calls KKx board do your really think he peels one light ?? looks like i just play a bit different then most of you

to me a regular would peel one light more often then a fish but who knows

This is why poker forums are nice - we can all exchange views and learn something from it
