NL Holdem $0.25(BB) Poker Stars
Hero ($44.54)
BB ($39.94)
CO ($15.09)
BTN ($25)

Dealt to Hero J K

fold, BTN raises to $0.75, Hero calls $0.65, BB calls $0.50

FLOP ($2.25) 9 4 J

Hero bets $1.61, BB calls $1.61, BTN folds

TURN ($5.47) 9 4 J 7

Hero checks, BB checks

RIVER ($5.47) 9 4 J 7 6

[color=red]Hero checks, BB bets $2.50, Hero ?

I donk flop because I figured this flop is likely to go chk chk chk, and since I don't want that, I donk. On turn I decide to c/c since I thought there was not much value in a bet and he would bet all draws (was a mistake now I think about it again). On river I wasn't sure at all, I would suspect he bets his stronger hands and draws on turn. At other hand, all draws his, which he might check on turn? (you never know with those guys). Villain is a 18/15, seems passive post flop.

I think it's a fold personally, since all draws hit and he isn't valuebetting worse most likely.

yep 100% this is a fold for me as well, i don't mind the checkraise option on the turn obviously that option was taken from you but the river is a clear fold.

I like the line of keeping the pot small out of position when i think my opponent will call to the river although most people will say you should have went full pot on the turn given your perceived equity.

Nah, tbh I think I misplayed this hand insane lol. Turn should have been a bet, and after that river c/f. When you check turn, atleast b/f river after turn check check. Just curious ''as played'' what is the best option.

..... if you check the turn and the FD doesn't get there you are able to call off a bluff and keep the pot small. As it happened you lost the minimum

If your opponent checks the turn and you bet the river that to me is a BIG mistake. Your bluffing to defend a small amount of showdown value (given the board texture) where you can never get called when your ahead.

If you thought the flop would get checked, I would have potted it to get value from their draws and bluff-catchers. If we don't get action on the flop (they just called) I would have also potted the turn, or bet near pot for the same reasons I bet big on the flop.

As played, I wouldn't dismiss calling the river because your hand looks super weak and he probably has enough bluff-catchers we are ahead of to make it a profitable call. If caling is a mistake, it's not a huge one.

Turn is an easy value bet you're still ahead of his range. If you're going to donk flop check turn I'd rather just check flop since you're giving up initiative on the turn anyways. You need to get value on the turn from KQ QJ TT A9 ect type hands before the river either brings an action killer or they miss their draw. As played river's an easy fold.
