Re: weird spot vs complete unknown
You played the hand well imo, I like the c/f on flop, but call vs his sizing, and now I would fold river because I never see them bluffing here with air. You could consider a raise, but you never know what he calls with or what his range is, so I would fold. Also, you don't rep much with a raise, so even more of a reason to fold I guess.

Re: weird spot vs complete unknown
I raise pre bigger vs this 55bb player.
As played I play x/f on flop.
I do call river because you get great odds and I dont think he has a jx because he will bet the turn probably with it. And he would probably x flop behind with a second kinda pair. I only see him betting river with 66 but he might shove this pre.

Re: weird spot vs complete unknown
well presumably you don't have any reads on him or you woulda posted them, so I'd call river just to get some reads on what he plays like this. and there's a non-zero chance you're winning anyway
as for the rest of the hand, preflop is good. on the flop I would look to check ship since we only have an spr of a little over 3 and his range is still very, very wide. I think c/fing the flop is actually a reasonably large mistake, assuming he's your standard zany fish. but when he bets 1.50 it looks much more likely we'll find a way to get to showdown cheaply, plus the risk-reward on a shove goes down dramatically.
like I said I call riv w/ those odds. who knows what he has, but I think the chances we are randomly ahead & info we gain for future hands makes it +ev

Re: weird spot vs complete unknown
U really think u should call for info at this limit? I personally think you don't see players often enough at your tables to do this. Just call if you think it's +ev in a vacuum imo.

Re: weird spot vs complete unknown
i mean we are getting 7-1 so i'm pretty sure it's +ev in a vacuum. but the info is valuable too.

Re: weird spot vs complete unknown
I think crai on the flop is good if we knew villain tendencies. If villain folds pp's (22-TT), over played missed broadways such as KQ,AT,AJ, and AQ. We also might get villain to fold AK. This bet sizing of 1.50 to seems like the range I also pointed out. Especially a pp. As played, I too am calling the river and making a note of it, exploit it and get his stack.
