Re: HSP Season 6 episode 1 - SPOILER ALERT
What was up w/ this last episode? Negreanu ch/r all in w/ middle pair against Durrrr? Seemed pretty fish to me as Tom is only calling w/ better, and almost always folding worse.
If you missed it, Dwan had QQ, kidpoker had 97dd, flop was J9x rainbow, durrrr cbets and danman shoves the rest of his chips in. This seemed terrible imo.
Other than that last hand the show was pretty boring and uneventful for me. I wanna see the group w/ andrew robl, phil galfond, durrrr, and ivey..... at least i hope that's all together, i didn't think galfond was going to be playing again, but thought i saw him in the previews of the first episode for the season.

Re: HSP Season 6 episode 1 - SPOILER ALERT
That line of thought doesn't allways apply when SPRs are pretty low. If Negreanu flats he'll have 70k left to play the turn and there will be about 71k in the pot. His playability is pretty low past the flop as he'll be guessing a lot, and potentially prone to making mistakes against a potentially superior post flop player.
By jamming he nullifies Durrrr's positional advantage and his potential to bluff him out of the pot with a worse hand.
Durrrr might even occasionally call with worse hands that he feels comitted with (for example QTdd). He's about a 4-1 dog when called so he needs about 46% fold equity to break even. Jamming is likely gonna be better than folding or atleast can't be considered as atrocious. I'm personally not a fan of calling w/that SPR and two more cards to come oop.
In fact I assume calling allows Tom to play near perfect in this spot. In summary I don't mind his play.

Re: HSP Season 6 episode 1 - SPOILER ALERT
Just got done watching episode 5!!! WOW!! How action packed was that?
Why are Daniel and Gus Slow playing a hand like QQ when people are 3 bet bluff shoving on flops?
It seemed utterly stupid to slow play a big pocket pair, when people appeared to be 3 bet bluffing a decent amount.
Even though the show was super action packed.. I must admit a lot of the play was rather suspect imo.

Re: HSP Season 6 episode 1 - SPOILER ALERT
daniel was short he had 40k I think,so i can forgive his limp as durr and dario were behind and have a high propensity to squeeze, idk about Gus cold caling with qq dont think that was awful as long as he can make good decisions on flop ( the flop kinda coolered him with straight and flush possibilities) daniel fearing a set was funny. the final hand was entertaining but aty the end ivey cant cal as too many of durrs bluffs are ahead....buut he did consider moving all in, and I think all in or fold are his only choices, although durr would be getting 4.5-1 on river call so kudos to his bet sizing and heart.
the hand I thouht was most intresting was mercier v Ivey and I cant decide who plyayed it wrong(if anyone); Ivey calling getting 3-1 with practicially top pair on a non draw board or mercier thinking he can fold ivey while giving him 3-1 with no history, I think he would have played an overpair similarly. yes he might have cold caled with AA buuut wold he realy want to play oop and give a free card to ivey? ,

Re: HSP Season 6 episode 1 - SPOILER ALERT
I thought gus' QQ flat was probably best given how dynamics were from what I saw on the show. Negreanu seemed to be giving respect to 3bets and gus hadn't been too active so I think he extracts more overall from making daniel spew postflop rather than pre. I like it better than just 3betting, plus there's some guys behind who may 3bet bluff it for him.
On the ivey vs mercier hand, I was thinking something pretty similar to ivey except that I was plannin on folding to the rejam after popping it up but i also would've sized things a bit differently. It seemed like Ivey even felt like he made a mistake but had raised so much already that he was pot committed to hoping he had AK/AQs. Also he might've reasoned that on such a dry board, mercier would flat AA/KK/QQ and let ivey continue bluffing or w/e

Re: HSP Season 6 episode 1 - SPOILER ALERT
wow! just watched last nights episode, that was not one to miss. Crazy action.... ok i'm pretty much repeating maximus' opening paragraph but wow!
I don't think i can comment on any of the hands cause I can't begin to understand what level there on.... but to me seemed like a lot of crazy play, but again i'm sure all those guys had decent reasons for there play... maybe.
