Default Playing on a Standing Desk

After getting back to putting in more volume now that I've finished my economics degree, I've been thinking a lot about the ergonomics of my workspace as I've experienced a fair amount of neck tension during and after play.
I've just ordered a new chair and elevated my monitor, so that it is closer to eye level, but was wondering if anybody has experimented with playing on a standing desk?
Here is a reference article from Lifehacker with some tips on how to improve workspace ergonomics: http://lifehacker.com/5409915/top-10...your-workspace.

Yea, I mean it might be more interesting as a second desktop so that when you start to feel tired you can switch back to a desktop with seating. It might also be more interesting to use it for non-playing stuff only. Like reading forums, analyzing hands, accounting or whatever. In this case one could also consider upping the stakes to a walking desk: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2012/2/prweb9192154.htm.

ive always wanted to get one at like a 45 degree angle so i could just chill in a recliner-- that'd require some kind of custom setup so that the monitors could be at a downward angle and not fall in my face.

I've seen Benyamine with a setup like that. He had a recliner and like a 50" TV mounted to the wall that was tilting downwards. It's at 2:05 for reference http://www.cardplayer.com/cptv/chann...avid-benyamine.

I used to be an actuary - I had one of these at work. The desk was on a kind of slide thing, and you could slide it up and down. I thought it was pretty sweet to be able to work standing up. In practice though, I didn't use it much. Mostly because I would start the day sitting down, and by the time I got to the point where I had neck/back issues from sitting down, the last thing I wanted to do was adjust my desk and stand up.

Wow Benyamine has a sick house. I've never played online poker on a TV before, I imagine it would be weird...

What I'm really waiting for are pocket beamers that work in daylight and can project in 2560x1440/x1600 or higher. Imagine always having a 30" monitor in your pocket that you can setup almost anywhere.
From the sound of it, it's still 2-3 years till we can get that sort of technology in consumers hands though.

I have a geekdesk sit/stand desk on hydraulics. It is about equally comfortable both ways, but it feels good to switch it up from time to time. From what I have read standing is a lot healthier than sitting for hours everyday (which I admit I tend to do). Just have to remember to not be lazy and raise up the desk, which can be a bit of a challenge.

Thanks for the info, that looks like a pretty decent solution.
