carbon poker payouts (US)
Basically I'm from the US playing on carbon and the payouts are horrible. Courier by check with the max withdrawal being 2500 and 6-8 weeks to receive or longer. Basically my question is, does anyone know if it is okay to transfer to someone outside the US where the payouts are timely and reasonable, so as to receive my money faster? I'm clueless as to whether this is illegal or frowned upon, or fine to do.
Thanks for any insight into this.

Obviously illegal lol. Anytime you pass off your income to someone else without declaration it is going to be seen as money laundering I think.

I think it's fine and have heard of a lot of people doing it.
James, I don't think he's doing it to get around paying taxes.

I've done it with people on 2+2 using Chase peer-to-peer transfers. Obviously there has to be some trust on both ends

I dont think he is either but Im going to guess it would still be illegal, just highly unlikely that anything comes of it. Imagine a more extreme example, if he wanted to get off 500k and got a friend to cash it out, even if he declared everything if his friend gets audited then the IRS would be curious as to where he got the 500k from and why he was cashing it out for a friend etc.

I agree with you in a "letter of the law" sense, but I doubt the authorities will get involved if it isn't worth their time to prosecute.

Re: carbon poker payouts (US)
It is good that they already allowed US players to play on their site. As for me, I haven't any encounter any problem with their payouts. You just have to be patient with it.
