Question IS THIS A CHEEKY/AGGRO RESPONSE ?

i posted a HH in a skype group chat asking about a PF situation and got a reply from X, so i quoted the reply from X and then posted the remainder of the HH with the flop and asked..

[16:40:35] Jamie (jamjam818): as played, now what is our best option ?

(to which i got a response from a different member of the chat 'Z')

[16:42:34] Z : what is our best option ? <<<<<<<wrong aproach
[16:42:59] Z : you guys want answers, set on stone answers. Do this, do that...
[16:43:09] Z : it doesnt work that way
[16:43:24] Z : I have a question, not an answer

now for the record, im not a great poker player and the skype group is mainly lower stake players like myself etc and 'Z' is 1 of the kind of pros so to speak put in the chat to answer/help with hh's and questions..

maybe im wrong? but this seemed out of line and pretty cheeky/offensive to me (it turned into an argument lol),

can i have your views and thoughts ??

thanks jamjam

If it were a fellow student I would't think he was out of line, I would just think he's a dick. For a coach to say that I would expect him to follow up with some kind of good explanation for the given hand history.

If he just left it at that "I have a question, not an answer" (whatever the fuck that means) then I would be a bit pissed off. The point of getting coaching is to learn from better players. Not for better players to tell you your approach is wrong and leave it at that lol

hes not my coach nor am i his student, its purely just a skype group created that i joined and he('Z') and 1/2 others are the like better players giving advice on hhs and questions, if that matters/changes much.

As someone who can be abrasive at times, I would find this response tilting. Reminds me of citizen wind who was a total dick to people in the name of making them better. Sure it could work but there are a number of other ways to go about it without being a total ass. If he's often a dick I would try to remove yourself from the situation and find a better coach/mentor. There are plenty of people who are better than you at poker. !!!

I feel like this comes up a lot with people from outside of america when they talk to someone from america. I don't view it as bad at all. It depends on how the groups is going and how low of stakes they are. I can relate to Z because people will post hands where it really depends on what to do, but they think they can always do something like check KK back on A87tt then call turn and fold river. That being said I have no idea of the context so I can't judge. You also get to a certain point where you can just give the correct answer and people should know why you would make that play. It would take forever to always explain everything.
