This olympic games he brought out a new move that no one can do...and in 4 years he'll probably need an even NEWER/harder move.

So...if you go into it with the attitude "I've gotta study poker cause everyone studying/improving" I think you can have a long poker career.

The games have gotten harder and this has been party driven by the sites since everyone getting better and less edge on eachother means people go bust slower and there is more rake generated. There is one possible salvation.....CHINA! If that opens up to poker then watch out man. There will be so many droolers at the tables it will be like clubbing baby seals.

And it would be nice if they could officially legalize it here in the US.

Games will always be beatable, even if they die, like limit hold'em did, there are still people that make shitloads of $$$ from that game. As long as you study hard enough and as long as the regulation doesn't become too national in most of the states, you will make your moneyzzz. Even then you can make a living, but not a crushing, and there is still Live poker. But, who cares anyway, it doesn't help because it is out of your control. The Pokerverse is huge and there are lots of niches. Besides that, having a Plan B is always a good general idea.

I dont see China changing things drastically online, most people in that country dont make very good money ($400 canadian a month is a pretty sweet salary) and then there will be some who play online but not enough to create a surge of any kind... the game will continue to evolve and be a tougher beast but it is what it is
