Re: grogheadflow - $100 NL
The angel on my left shoulder is saying deny the troll his diet of attention. But sigh, here goes.
Look at my AP PTR graph if it means so much to you. It's breakeven until Feb09. Know why? Because I wasn't very good. I don't recall making any Leggo vids during this time.
Then I quit my job, did bobbo coaching, etc, and almost overnight started putting out 5 figures every month. Feb09 and beyond is way past the 'party days' of pre-UIGEA unlimited fishies (so the usual charge of 'can't beat the games any more' doesn't apply), and if you extrapolate the ptbb/100 since that Feb09 point at 2-4 it's way higher than your stated minimum of 4pt/100.
Really though Raj, you're like one of those people who buy tickets to a concert just to throw bottles. For want of a better, more professional, more customer-oriented way of putting this; please just fuck off.

Re: grogheadflow - $100 NL
I haven't seen this vid, and probably won't have the time to do so until Friday, so I can't comment on the plays in this vid.
There are some coaches whose videos, application and knowledge should be questioned, but I don't see Grog as one of them.
For example, people sent him hands and he was supposed to do a hand regular review video. What he did was take the hands, find some points that are common to them, elaborate and make them in to concepts that apply to SSNL. That takes effort, and it also requires genuine interest in making the video as good as possible.
Raj may have been a little too disrespectful and in the end got a northern 'fuck off' for his efforts (heh), but generally speaking, comments and critiques should be encouraged.
The worst vids are not the ones in which a coach makes a play I, or somebody else disagrees with. For it's those vids that peddle standard stuff as if it's like the new begging of humankind. I remember watching a 400nl video in which the coach spent half an hour yapping about how his range on the button is much wider than under the gun and how playing hands in position is much better than out of position. Shit like that makes me angry, not somebody being too aggro or splashy.
All this might be a bit incoherent, but I am tried as a dog and need sleep.

Raj doesn't like Grog
You've still been losing every single session @ 6max on FTP..
i know a bunch of guys who only win on AP aswell.. theres a reason.. this site is scum and the competition is REALLY soft..
Good for you, you play there and win.. but you'll never beat FTP games.. that means you clearly are underskilled for this job

Re: Raj doesn't like Grog
Raj what have I told you about being a cunt on the internet? It is not real life. You stop getting yourself all worked up. The reason Grog makes videos and you don't is cause your shit. That's why your dad left us. Maybe you should show these guys that big graph you like to stare at and they will accept you?
Anyway, the real person you should be complaining about today is Iplaypokeher. I was so excited to watch his video. Then I watched it and he didn't show me how to play 1,3,5 or 7 hands! He never showed me his expertise in table blocking! He never showed me how to sit at tables with the letter A. He didn't even berate anyone telling him they are the greatest, claiming that he will play anyone whilst sitting out for the 3rd time! He didn't even welch on any bets. What a lousy video.

I realize that as the owner of this site I have some responsibility to try and police this stuff, but this is a little too awesome imo.
P.S. ^ That's not my gimmick obv!

Re: Raj doesn't like Grog
OK, OK I will be a bit more serious: There are a million reasons why someone's results aren't that great. grog's happen to be pretty good. My results are not very good on PTR. It's a small sample size, of course. I'm probably breakeven or something over the course of the last year at online poker anyways (ok, I'm almost certainly + some amount, but I don't think it's a significant amount for the stakes I play). I don't play very often (been getting better at that). I'm nowhere near the grinder I was 2 years ago. It's difficult to get a read on what my true results are, but PTR basically says I'm turrible.
I'd argue I'm still a pretty decent coach and video producer. I'd argue that for a few reasons: 1. I'm still a huge winner when I am playing well and putting in enough volume and 2. I'm very good at articulating my thoughts.
grog happens to be very good at articulating his thoughts.. and his thoughts on poker happen to be very good as well. His style is not for the faint of heart, that's for sure, but he brings something to the table and his results back that up. He's strong in Bobbo-theory; I bet if you watched one of Bobbo's videos you'd disagree with some things as well. I bet you'd disagree with some things that I said. That is fine, good players even disagree (and strongly, from time to time) with other good players.
For some time it was easy to be a coach at Leggo: you win at a huge winrate over a huge sample, and you become a Leggo coach! Now, it's not nearly as easy: you have to win, you have to be able to articulate your thoughts clearly, you have to be helpful around the forums, you have to be responsible for your actions, and you have to have work ethic. We have coaches who are great at 4 of those 5 things and just okay at the fifth, we have some who are world class in 1 or 2 of those categories, we have some who have all 5 balanced very well-- you get the idea. Everyone brings something special to the table though.
Your entire OP came off as upset that you aren't a coach-- if you are interested in being a coach, you may apply within (although I don't know if this thread looks kindly on that, hopefully grog doesn't review your video!). Probably 1/5 or so of our coaches come via application. We check them out thoroughly, see what their participation has been like across the internet, and ask their peers about them.

Re: Raj doesn't like Grog
1. Have only seen Grog's live poker video (which was great, btw), but his results are clearly very good. Don't understand the hate here from the OP.
2. Aaron is dead on in his post - I had good results and no experience making videos and no connections to any of the Leggo higher ups. I applied and made some sample videos, got some feedback and was accepted as a coach. It's a pretty meritocratic system, imo. Also in before my vids suck too
