Default Barreling Frequencies

Can someone explain the idea behind the theory barreling frequencies into depth?

I am not quite sure if I understand it and how we can determine villains or our own barreling frequencies.

honestly the way to understand barreling frequencies I think is from experience. Just make note of what board textures ppl are firing on or folding on and which streets or how ppl react to different lines when they take a certain action.

So if you see someone folding a ton to triple barrels on xyz board, then u should be 3 barreling more in general etc.

I started with looking over my hm db of hands I played at rush and non rush just to get an idea of overall how often people would fold to flop, turn, and river barrels. I also went through a stint at rush where I just tried triple barreling a ton and seeing how it did. It worked surprisingly more than I thought it would, and I found out some stuff the hard way that probably would seem pretty obvious to people here. Stuff like people don't fold when the board pairs, it's not that good to barrel Q, K, or A high flops, and it's much easier to get people to fold on T- high flops even if the standard scare cards don't come.

Something I'm still working on and I think is more important is knowing people's ranges and how they'll react with those ranges especially in the flow of the game. This is probably more important at lower stakes where you don't have to worry about balance at all, but at higher stakes people will probably start to notice that you barrel certain boards too much. I always try to at least keep a mental note of how much air/nutted hands I have in my range just to stay sharp although I don't think it probably matters until at least 200nl. It does help against the more aggro 50nl regs who barrel too much though.
