Default Having a "Game Plan"

Hey guys,

i think there is basic thing in Poker i misunderstood. People are allways talking about there overall Gameplan and stuff. I didnt get WHAT it exactly is, what i need to discribe if someone asks me for my gameplan and what i need to define if i wanna describe my gameplan.

My problem is that my game i very "uneven". Its like closing your eyes and triying to walk in a str8 line. Im allways falling into a kind of subconscious tilt and my game is drifting out of line...

Now i wanted to define my overall game. beeing aware of my style. but for some reason im not able to do this...

So here are my Questions:
How would you describe "having a Gameplan"?
What thing do i have to define in my "Gameplan"?
What things belong in my "Gameplan"?

Thank you .

I wish you guys a nice Christmastime

HI,
1) I would describe having a game plan as "Know the most +EV option in any given situation".
2) In order to define your game plan you need to adjust the most +EV option given what you know about villains style tenancies ect...
3) Once you know the answers to question 2 question 3 answers itself.
Here's a quick EG of what I think a game plan should be.
Example 1) Villain opens really wide PF never folds to a 3bet but plays passive post flop, folds to cbets 30%.
Stats something like 45/40 fold to 3bet 30%
Here my game plan would be to 3bet only for value with a range of something like.
TT+, AT+, KJ+. QJ,
I would then play the flop purely for value with no bluffs.

Example 2) Villain is an ok reg 23/20 opens 37% on the CO folds to 3bets 93% of the time 4bets 2%
Calls 3bets 5%
Here my game plan would be to 3bet bluff a shit load and cbet bluff lots of flops.

Cbet bluff lots of flops after he calls with his super tight "vs 3bets" continuing range ?

Gameplan would be having a style of playing suited against players that you dont know very well. Like diginet said, its basically knowing what the most +EV move is typically against random players at a limit. If you dont know a limit very well, I can say it is a bit difficult until you look people up/play enough to get the information you need on how ppl are playing.

I wouldnt generally come to a table though with a plan to 3bet a ton or cr a ton, it just depends who im playing with.

Game plan to me means playing based on solid mathematical reasoning. The first things that come to mind for me are always preflop opening ranges, btn/co steal ranges, 3-bet range, how often I want to c-bet. This helps keep me from totally spewing out of control because of tilt.

His range may seem tight but a reg calling OOP as a brash statement is heavily weighted to PP which cant continue in many flops and there just hoping to hit a set.
