Preflop Minraise ???

So lately Ive seen a bunch of regs open minraising from all positions, especially in FR and I wonder what are the merits of this and do they outweigh the fact its much harder to stack people when the pot is so small? What are your thoughts?

I don't see how this could be optimal play minraising anywhere except maybe the BTN. I sure as heck wouldn't do it at full ring where people play so fit/fold postflop. If they're going to call just to see a flop and give up I'm sure as hell gonna make them put more $ into the pot PF.

I was hoping one of these guys who do this might share his insights. To me it seems pretty silly too tbh.

from early position it is clearly a large mistake because you invite too many people in the pot after you. i never raise less than 3x except from the button, and verrrry rarely from the CO

I've seen some .1/.25 players doing this from UTG, UTG+1, with suited connectors for exactly the reason ae said, I presume. The pot attracts alot of people and you hold a strong multi-pot hand. These same players will raise KK,AA, but limp/call QQ-. This is based on three players I have seen, who obviously, are the best in the world.
