| | | yea if you say that for lag you mean an etremly good players with a 8bb/100 and is breakeven in nonshowdown spots you are right, i'm a lagtard. with lag i just mean a loose and aggro player, i'm learning and that obvius that any lag at 50nl game is a LAGtard for a 2knl.. that obvious, but anyway, i got the answers in this thread and i'm playng a little better and tighter now!! thx to all!! |

| | | I spent way to long searching for the magic bullet that would get my 'w$wsd' into the positive winning numbers. I started pre-flop with 3 betting frequency, squeezing and re-squeezing and 4 betting, moved on to cbetting ranges and board textures, worked on 2barrelling and 3 barrelling, tried more thin value bets on the river. I got looser and more aggro but I never saw real improvement in my w$wsd numbers.
My mistake, at least in part, turned out to be I was focused on trying to win more pots when really I should have been focused on losing less. I was looking for 'moves' when I should have been folding more. Getting out early when the board doesn't lend itself to a bluff or a cbet saves you bets and hence increases your bb/100 in w$wsd pots... Blindly cbetting, 2nd barrelling, making 'moves' just eats away at your w$wsd rate.
Anyway - my 1st ever post here so feel free to ignore it. |

OTOH you pick up more small pots/blinds etc which are not shown down.

Why 'should' it be that way? Losing in showdown pots seems a bit extreme.
I'd be OK with you saying you should win more in non-showdown pots than in showdown pots. |

| | Re: question on LAG style. Btw what is considered LAG and what is considered TAG?
I like to see myself as somewhere inbetween, I play a 25/20 3.5-4af.
I have a positive winrate in showdown winnings and non showdownswinnings,
And ofc just randomly firing into people is never a key into good poker, wether u play TAG or LAG.. |

| | Re: question on LAG style. I play about 32/26 (lower if aggro 3bettors or shorties behind me, but then I just leave) at 400NL and I make a tiny/negligible profit in non-showdown, and all my proper winnings come from showdown. I'm surprised that I'm 'supposed' to be winning my money in non sd pots from what I read here, since it feels to me that what I am doing is setting myself up to be paid off in the big ones. Maybe when (if!) I move up and play better players I won't be able to manipulate them into paying me off and things will reverse... or I'll just lose. | | | |
