Default SB flat range

Just a hypothetical question - lets say we are in the SB 100bbs deep button and bb are both regs competent and aggressive and the BB is sqz happy

what should be our optimal flatting range? does the button open sizing matters?(2x, 2.5x 3x) i heard some opinions that you should never have a flat range in this spot because its hard to balance so i wonder how you guys play out situation like that

This is such a huge it depends for me. You could probably still easily flat at least 88-99 and just 4b jam if bb is squeeze happy. I don't see a need to be balanced.

i will answer a general question with a general answer...I think the more u can outplay / have reads on the players postflop, the wider a range u can flat from the sb.

The smaller the button raise, the more u should be defending.

A lot of your flatting/3betting/folding range will depend on their opening / 3betting /4betting ranges and frequencies as well as how well they play postflop

JamesMa (or anyone else) what do you think about 3b'ing a really depolarized range from the blinds to steals at low stakes against the average player who calls way too many 3-bets and probably folds too much to c-bets? I was thinking about 3b'ing something like a tighter 8% version of this but I might start out with this just to see how people react:

I feel like people don't play back enough and fold to c-bets too much and 3b'ing something like this might be better against the typical person at low stakes who doesn't fold enough to 3-bets than flatting with ATs and stuff? The only problem I see with it is if they start 4b'ing light but then you already have a pretty cool range to worth with to 5b jam. It looks incredibly weird when I look at it and maybe I still should flat some hands like ATs and throw in the usual 86s or random Kxs to 3-bet with, but I think I'd have a really hard time playing against someone who was 3b'ing with the hands in the screenshot.

wouldnt flat anything here with the situation you describe. BB and SB share responsibilty here for stopping the btn from opening any 2 cards, but the BB shares the overwhelming share of the responsibilty since hes getting better odds on a call and closing the action. Therefore the SB actually optimally plays a really narrow range here, and is better off hiding information, and anytime you want to hide information with a range thats tight and nutted, you should raise

Nm I think I was thinking about it all wrong again. It totally depends on villain's tendencies, game flow, ect. It's always so much easier when I drop tables and just pay attention to people's ranges and how they actually play.
