Default PLO20: middle set no redraw on drawy board

BTN 88/39/40 hands
Kinda overaggressive

BB unknown

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
PL Omaha $0.20(BB) Replayer
Hero ($20)
BB ($4.99)
CO ($24.89)
BTN ($44.27)

Dealt to Hero 9 4 A 9

fold, BTN raises to $0.70, Hero calls $0.60, BB calls $0.50

FLOP ($2.10) T 6 9

Hero ?

Is this a good spot to lead? I feel like a lot of weaker draws check this board behind but call a bet so checking kinda isolates us vs better hands. That said how do we deal with a raise? Can we safely fold then? I haven't seen him spazzing out with weak hands so far but there's still a chance that he just goes ahead and raises some weak shit because he's the PFA and got led into...

First, fold preflop. This is a pretty bad hand, especially to play out of the SB.

I think leading is fine here. With the BB short stack overcalling preflop we can lead into him and use that stack size of his sometimes when he shoves. If he shoves we get to see what the deeper stack does to a bet and a raise and thus gain information on the BTN. If BTN folds in that senario we can easily call the BB.

If we lead and BB folds and BTN raises then it's going to depend on how much he raised but I think folding would be the best option until you have a reason to think he is super aggro and very wide here. Even an aggressive player won't be raising leads on this board without solid draws or better made hands and maybe the occasional blockers.

Yeah, I definitely considered this hand as being the very borderline. I'm still pretty new to PLO so my PF range probably has some flaws here and there but I figured this hand would flop enough equity vs someone raising probably 60% of his hands on the BTN. Additionally A9s flops some strong draws and while 99 can easily be oversetted I expect him to go way to far with 2pairs or even worse hands.

Probably still a good idea to fold this pre because my postflop game probably has even more leaks but don't you think a really skilled player should be able to play this profitably vs a guy like that?

This hand just doesn't play well multi way. I'm not really worried about 99 being oversetted as much as it limits the flops and draws you'll hit or have. You're going to c/f this flop a ton and even when you snag a little big of it like a Axx flop...you're still not very happy.
