Default 6max 18man SnG Variance

Recently I've been getting staked to play SnG's and MTT's on Betfred. I'm a student and I recently quit my job so as to make more time for poker and University work. I find the most profitable games to be the 6max 18man Turbo, $11 SnG's. I've been wondering if anyone has alot of experience with these types of SnGs? I know compared to the sick amounts of volume some of you awsome Leggopoker members put in, my statistics may not seem highly relevant as I've only got ~800 games under my belt, but the past ~50 games have been disgustingly bad for me. It's like I can't win a hand. Every hand is a cooler or I get sucked out on. I was hoping someone out there would be able to share their experiences with types of variance in these games. I'm well aware that I may not have played my A+ game but at the end of the day in turbo SnGs when AK is never good and/or AJ is never the best hand...you can't really do much other than try to bink a bit harder. I'll try and get some hard data soon...if it'll actually even be significant.

Just looked up some stats. In the past 50 games I've cashed 3 times and came 4th 5 times. (Btw payout; 1st- $90, 2nd- $54, 3rd- $33 (So coming 4th hurts.)) I know 50 games may not be a significant sample size, so hopefully someone with more experience could shed some light on this.

When I first started out, I played a lot of 9man sngs but havent played in a while.... also turbos are going to be much higher variance. Cashing only 3 times outta 50 does seem like you probably have some leaks although it could be variance. I would be a bit concerned tho

Hey James,

Thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately I don't think I have many massive leaks, maybe a few small ones (although, maybe i'm just not good enough to notice). I feel like I have a big edge against all the players i'm playing against and I do quite a bit of homework with Hold 'Em Resources looking at push/fold equity, hand ranges etc. I'm losing mostly when the cards are on their backs. Started up a hand diary too. In the past like 35 games I've bubbled 6 times, come 1st 6 times and 3rd once. 4 times I bubbled I ran pairs into AA!!! I posted this in the psychology forum because I wanted to know if this was normal, if I was running insanely bad or was insane. Any of the other Leggo guys got experience with these types of games' variance? I am soldering on but it's a tad soul destroying.
