For me it was a "slowly building up tolerance" type of thing.
When I started playing poker, the max any site would allow you to play was only 2-3 tables. So putting in 1,000 hands (full ring limit) was a BIG deal back then. Then in the middle of my career, I was 8 tabling NL1K 6max on party poker. And putting in 1K hands hands wasn't a big deal at all.
Now I'm so used to grinding, that 24 tabling (over multiple sites

) is a breeze. Making 1,000 hands in a day super easy, and when I do "only" play 1K hands for the day, I feel like a slacked. Year 1 = 300-500 hands a day Year 3 = 1K-3K hands a day Year 7 = 2.5K-5K hands a day
Keep in mind, in year 1, even if I was "able" to 24 table, NO WAY could I of done as many hands in a day as I do now. It takes time/practice to be able to mass table with a reasonable winrate. Just keep slowly adding tables, and before you know it you'll be way surpassing 1K hands a day
