do you..
believe in running bad and running good?
i personally would rather not believe in either because i think it insinuates that online poker is rigged but unfortunately i do believe in running bad/good.
when i first started playing poker i didn't believe in either but over time i've become a proud delusional meglomaniac and...
def don't THINK while i'm playing..yet think i'm all that
tilt very hard when i get bad beat..
don't enjoy playing and just curse how bad i run..
and wait anxiously for the day that i run good..
exception, when i get owned and i think about it i can sometimes see my fault in play,i know when i'm playing bad and these are just vague feeling going on in the back of my mind and i have a hard time accepting variance.
imo, this causes me to stop thinking productive poker thoughts and just focus on getting a good hand/flop and stacking off,i desperately hope to play a five street pot on first street and spew left right and centre.
^^thats worst case.
back in the day a BB wouldn't bother me and i'd think ''oh well thats poker'' but i don't anymore..
sklansky bux are bullshit because you would have to play as bad as villian/run as good as villian and you lost the pot in the first place and that moneys never coming back (unless donk stays at table and you own him/her)
just wondering if anyone else gets that feeling of riggedness in their head and tilts because of it also?
little bit messy but i hope people get my drift and this creates good discussion..

Re: do you..
I'm not sure which direction you wanted to steer the conversation, whether or not there is bad luck, or more about the spew / tilt that comes from running bad.
I believe in running bad online but not live. When I tilt I quit for an hour or so and then come back. Focus on taking it one hand at a time and playing it the best you can, the money will follow

Re: do you..
All you can really do is play your "A" game, and when variance strikes, don't go on monkey tilt and start spweing. If you play good enough, you'll be a winner at the end of the year.

Re: do you..
how you are 'running' evens out and every1 runs the same if you play enough hands, so it pretty pointless to get annoyed or worried about it imo

Re: do you..
Running bad and good exists as a facet of variance. Playing consistently and not allowing yourself to play tilted will allow you to surpass these down swings and be profitable long term. I know personally I can start to really let a down swing or a bad run get to me at which point I start thinking that the site I'm playing on (FTP) is rigged lol. Having constant bad beats or losing with top pairs to straights on the river combined with me watching the consistent bad beats or straight draws on the river happening to other people makes me think there is some shadyness going on behind FTP's closed doors.... but I try to convince myself that these thoughts are just a product of my bad run and that I will always inevitably make it back, And at very least HOOOOOOOORAYYYYYYY FOR RAKEBACK!!!!!!!!!!

Re: do you..
run good/run bad are only ways to describe the past. They never describe the present or the future.
