Hey guys, I've read a lot of good stuff here
I've read a lot of great things in these forums and really improved my emotional being through the reading of some posts, articles, and literature on the subject of variance and dealing with it. Just wanted some good quotes, posts, threads, etc. that others have found helpful and kept in mind when dealing with a rough patch. Here's one I try to keep in mind and focusing more on my mindset has really improved my results of late.
This is the definition of Fudoshin, which is the optimal state for martial arts:
A spirit of unshakable calm and determination,
courage without recklessness,
rooted stability in both mental and physical realms.
Like a willow tree,
powerful roots deep in the ground
and a soft, yielding resistance against
the winds that blow through it.
I feel like these traits are very important for a poker player, and staying focused and keeping calm and always maintaining that the number one goal is getting your money in good, the way the cards fall after that in inevitable.
