Default How do I get rid of the weak tight pattern ?

Hi, guys. I would like to hear some opinion on what I should do in order to get rid of my weak-tight-omfg-he's-got-the-nuts-if-he-shoves-on-this-board pattern of thinking. I started playing texas holdem about 3 years ago but had no idea what this game really means untill 6 months ago, when a friend of mine, a pro player started coaching me. Imagine how much money I lost in the long run, believing that I was good, only because I used to have some good runs due to my native luck Well, as I said he coached me for Hu games then I decided I should try low limits 6 max (I now play 50 NL). Thus, my husband started teaching me the basics. I changed a lot, at least my stats are completely different, from 40/15/2 I am now at the point where I play 16/14/4. I still have some issues though and I think that my problem comes with the post flop play. We all know it-s easy to play AA or KK most of the times...well my problem comes when, even though I'm in position and I raise with an AJ suited let's say, the flop doesn't really hit me. Like for example the flop comes AXX with two suited cards (none of my suit), I make my continuation bet and I get raised by my opponent. That's only an example of when I get scared. I usually fold on this kind of board, when my opponent is some good regular. I had a lot of bad runs due to my lately fear to 4 bet or shove.
Well I know I might not have been very specific, but the bottom line is what to do in order to change ? I think it's some psichological pattern that won't let me develop my game. Can anyone help me,please ?

this is a classic case of "monsters under the bed" syndrome, and the only way to cure it is by learning to hand read. that only comes with experience, although watching a lot of videos will and participating in forums will also help tremendously.

in terms of actual play, i would drop down to 25NL, start playing more hands (maybe like25/21ish) and force yourself to reason out everything you're doing. figure out what your opponent is representing, because it can't always be the nuts. if an aggro villain sees that you're folding a lot, he's going to come after you even more; you can play into that image and call them down when you're unsure, but the better solution is to develop an idea of their range in given spots and to play accordingly.

Thank you so much. You know...sometimes I think I will have to hire a coach to teach me everything once again, but primarily the postflop play which in my case is definately not right.
