I mean, Rakeback Pro just seems like it would make me even more miserable. I think at 2/4 you'd have to average 150k hands a month to get SNE, the most hands I've ever played in a month was 105K, and I was completely burnt out after that and didn't play poker for 2 months. So I don't know if that is even achievable for me.

Any recommendations on coaches or even what to do? This has honestly consumed me, I'm pretty depressed and it's all I think about lately. I"m trying to grind through it, but after losing a bit just insta quit, yesterday played like 300 hands before getting stacked 3x and quitting, today played like 5 minutes got stacked once and just quit. I just checked and losing at 2.2 PTBB over last 78K hands.

Might consider part time job, but really looking to something I can turn into a career, just have no idea how to go about approach and find out what to do.

I'd say get a coach if you have enough of a roll left to do so. Should help you plug leaks and start working towards beating the games again.

If you did want to start a career, I hope you have some good contacts cause thats really the only way you get good jobs in business and sometimes thats not even enough

Any recommendations on coaches though? Hard to weed through all of them, had a good one but he hasn't been around last two months.

Absolutely no contacts, wanted to start some type of business/become entrepreneur but pretty conservative with my money so not too eager to jump in and throw money into something I'm not confident in.

You need a break and you need to stop worrying. You're fighting an uphill battle whiIst you're in this mindset. I would say doing some sort of voluntary work abroad somewhere might be a good idea for a month or two. It would be a good addition to a blank resume if you do seek employment at some point and would be more fulfilling than a long holiday. Idk if that's for you or really appropriate for your circumstances, just an idea.

this might sound stupid, but have you thought about focusing on a different form of poker like taking up HU, PLO or focusing on mtts. you need to try and make poker fun again instead of tedious. focus on how good that mtt score was.. take a months break from 6max and come back refreshed with some confidence and a positive attitude

Strongly agree with this approach. You can't grind it out if you are in a bad and negative mindset. Good luck.

Everyone who hates their $50k per year cubicle job has a shitty job. There's no reason you have to have a crappy job. I work with a lot of people who make more than just about all of the online poker pros. Why do you have to have a crappy corporate job? The key is to realize that just like you cant start playing NL1000 out of the gate, you cant just jump into a career at the top either. I was a finance major like you. My advice is to not give up poker, but go get an MBA and sit for the CFA exam next June. Completing these two things will pretty much guarantee u wont be a $50k/yr cubicle monkey. Meanwhile, you wont have to give up poker. More than anything though, decide what you're trying to accomplish with your life and then go do it.

so true, im since 5 months loosingplayer.
sometimes i want leave a session after 10 hands.....
confidence in your game is so important......
without u get pushed around, even paranoia that all other big winners at the tables have superuseraccounts, cause its impossible that everybody has always 1st nuts when u ship.
u have the impression u get more coolers, suckouts, coldecks. when even a flopped fullhouse isnt good enough to holdem till river vs fish!

confidence!

cant remember when i had the last 10+stack session......for example...
to go every day/session after 20 minuts 3-8 stacks down...that is a killer for a broken mindset.

break is the the only solution.

get power back, good luck!

yo man this may be totaly irrelevant. I have experienced ur feeling of "I always loose" and "maybe Im just a break even grinder now" but since Im still at uni and not a full time player it is not imperative that I turn a huge profit.

I would assume it will be 10000x more stressfull for yourself since its ur income.

my suggestion would be to take some kind of productive break, and when you get back on the grind, maybe try another site. I find after 100k hands or so on a site I get complacent, super tilted and poker-depressed, but switching to another site I have always found refreshing. new softwear, new player pool, new bonuses/promotion, it just feels good and I always find some success.
