I'm losing heart at the moment. Playing 50nl and trying hard to work on my game but the last two months have been awful, can hardly seem to win a session. And I'm not sure if it is me playing bad or just variance. Keep calling with worse hands and bluffing rivers in bad spots.
Trouble is I don't really know where to start with fixing my game. I'm posting hands in the micro stakes forums and getting good responses.
But the problem is I can analyse hands quite well away from the table, but in the heat of battle I feel like I keep make the same mistakes over and over, like I'm stuck in a groove.
I've been playing for several years now and although I've made a little money I keep running into brick walls. At the moment any sessions I win are swamped by big losing sessions.
I know this is a ridiculously open-ended question but where do you guys think I should start with improving my game? There's just so much advice out there it is difficult for me to absorb it all.
I'm probably actually making some progress. I am applying some ideas into my game, but another problem is I see a fancy play being explained on a video and then I get carried away and try to check raise bluff all over the place and level myself.
Sorry for the random rabble. I know its pretty small beans compared to whats happened in the American poker scene.
