Please tell me I'm not crazy!
Hey guys, sorry if this is kind of pedestrian of me but I'm feeling really down about my game. Quick story: I deposited $50 on minted and began playing $3 HUsngs ( I was highly profitable on stars playing $5 husng and had a lot of promise prior to black firday...just take my word for it). I ended up running terribly and went bust. The last three games I lost were played against someone I perceive to be a huge fish. His s/n is chiefsfan17. Anyways, I got really tilted afterwards and sent him an angry message which made me look like a clown. He subsequently made a thread about it. In the thread, I tried to defend myself by posting two hands that I think clearly showed that he was a fish who ran well and that I was making sound logical decisions. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF THOSE TWO HANDS. This has really shattered my confidence as a player to the point where I feel like quitting the game. Here's the link, I'm cabsan. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/54...01/index2.html Keep in mind that this guy claims he's a poker pro living in the West Village of NYC who has 1.6 million in tournament cashes. Am I crazy or is there no way this can be possible?

Re: Please tell me I'm not crazy!
your right, but look at all the time you ve wasted looking for validation when you could be using this time to study, just pop his hands into poker stove vs ur range and presto there ur answer dont get into a flame war on 2+2 and if losing a couple of 60/40 is causing you this must stress then maybe poker isnt fro you.
variance in poker is massive, the result of the hand or match should have no emotional effect on u, u play ur hands as optimally as possible and move on to the next. (then review at end of session)
as far as cashes go Darvin moon has cashes of 5mil and i doublt he could beat 5dollar sng over a huge sample
edit; I think u played the hands well but I think u know that

Re: Please tell me I'm not crazy!
Well the AK was more of a 70 - 30% but yeah.. I dunno I was especially frustrated because it occurred at a time when I was already running way below EV and I felt like I was losing my game. Also I just hate that someone can play like an idiot and get rewarded for it. Maybe I'll try MTTs. Obviously variance is so much more of a factor then, but you expect it so it's kind of no big deal.

A fish won't post on 2+2.

i don't understand what you aim to accomplish by PMing him, or by posting here. do you want us to tell you your plays were +EV and you played better than him? it takes 4th grade math to know that calling an allin with J7o is -EV, and you write in coherent sentences so i'm sure you know that already and don't need someone else to tell you that.
so i can only assume your intentions in posting lie elsewhere - self-esteem boost, ego-gasm. pardon me for being forward but it seems like you have some extremely deep-seated self-esteem problems. if your only source of self-esteem is in beating others or having other people tell you you're good, life is going to be incredibly rough. if your self-esteem lies in beating others, your ability to perform is immediately compromised because losing is a direct assault on your sense of self-worth. in a sense, the stakes become way too high - if you lost, not only would you lose some money and not feel good about yourself, the very essence of your perceived existence would be threatened - your sense of security and the way you relate to the world is under attack... all because of something that is perfectly inevitable.
everyone who has ever mastered ANYTHING is completely, 100% comfortable with failure. they may not enjoy it, and they may still want to win very much, but they understand that failure is as integral to the process of success as success itself is. it is through failure that one succeeds. it is exceptionally crucial to understand that with regards to poker, because failure (i.e. making bad plays, getting unlucky, etc.) is more intrinsic to the nature of poker than basically anything i can think of.
it's difficult because we are bombarded with stimuli that convince us not to accept it. society doesn't laud failure. if someone takes a risk and falters they're scoffed at by pundits in ivory towers and shortly thereafter swept under the rug. and then if that person eventually breaks through, people act like they're a prodigy or a genius, when the fact of the matter is they've come to understand and accept an integral part of the human condition, which enables them to probe and push and experiment without fear. and more importantly, life stops being a battle and becomes a beautiful, fascinating, precious thing.

Re: Please tell me I'm not crazy!
Summary:
OP plays a guy that usually plays higher stakes
The villain is donking around, probably having fun at what he considers 'kiddie stakes'
Op fails to see that and reacts in a manner of a jealous girlfriend, borderline bunny boiler, and sends an angry PM on 2+2
The villain recognises the comedy value of the said PM and makes a thread that makes fun of the OP
Advice:
Chill dawg
