Default 100nl cbetting w/ top pair and getting raised

Looking for some general advice in spots where you flop decent, w/ little chance of improving and your cbet gets raised.. I guess the standard line I take when this happens is to call and reeval turn, the problem with this is that villians often double barrel turns with their entire range, partly b/c our hand seems so face up.. Any general advice or tricks to use in these spots?

Hand 1: The villian in this hand is 20/17/4.4 over 550hands.. 8% cr flop.. Having trouble w/ these spots lately.. What do you think of my flop peel? and what do we do if the turn is a total brick and he leads like this?

Hand 2: Villian in this hand is 18/13/2.7 450hands.. He has a 3bet of only 1%.. Is my play standard here?

Good question, wish I had a good answer for you. If I suspected that the villain would double barrel with the entire range, the calling is for sure spew, since we can't call the turn. I think hand 1 is a fold for sure, but hand 2 is pretty tough. I think I play it the same as you if I think villain will shut down on the turn.

I disagree btimm, I think villain's range is much wider in hand one. I'm calling the flop and turn there and folding river UI, they will give up on the river quite a bit. I may be out of line here I just don't think he has to have an 8/2 pair/set to make this play.

Hand 2 I'm calling flop and folding turn, very little we are ahead of besides air and our hand is very tough to play oop, I'm "waiting for better spot" so to speak.

General advice for spots IP such as hand 1 is check behind if you dont want to get checkraised and pushed off turn cards. We have a nice hand + draw but not one that is hugely comfortable putting lots of money in the pot UI. Only seeing the players stats in this case i err on the side of saying check behind is the better play.

Hand 2 is probably standard but it feels weak. I spose checking might have benefits here but that makes the hand harder to play oop.
